Glascoed

Cathy’s farm: A fascinating short documentary on the late Miss Catherine Sainsbury’s Alpaca farm at Ty Mawr, Glascoed (2007), reflecting on how the village is changing also.

Llanbadoc Community council web-site. Mainly concerned with present day Glascoed and the surrounding villages, although there is a fair bit of interest, including a page on the Glascoed ward and some interesting local walks with maps and historical references. Worth a good browse in general though, since there is other relevant info included.

General

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Records of service casualties since the Great War.

Monmouthshire Ancestors

Mike John published a huge amount of information on Monmouthshire families, was instrumental in the MONFH Yahoo Group and helped many people over 15 years or so to make progress with their family histories. This genealogical information is unfortunately no longer all online, although the Mongenes group which evolved from the original groups, has published subsequently published much of this information and plenty more in recent years.

Monmouthshire Genes: “Mongenes”: A Monmouthshire group is now operating and many ex-MONFH group members have joined this. A very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable bunch with varied interests in Monmouthshire families. There is a main website with a searchable database and a social media group. These are both highly recommended.

Many thanks

to Prokash Mondal, who re-designed this site for me in 2024. He’s highly recommended for responsive and professional web design services.
